The  first week of the teacher’s training seminar is complete. We all gave an oral presentation Friday that was video taped. We will review the tape tomorrow and critique our presentations. There are 6 students in the class, and all are excited to better themselves for the purpose of teaching in YWAM’s Discipleship Training Schools (DTS). In the third world schools  there are approximately 500 weeks per year that are filled by school staff which don’t feel adequate to teach on the subject matter. One of the principles that govern us is to first live it, then teach it. So we are asked to discern which subjects that the Lord has worked into our lives.

My first thought was “extending forgiveness.” I believe that I could also teach on “Hearing the Voice of God,” and “The Fatherheart of God”. So, when I am able to go to Africa (for example) to teach, I could possible stay for more than one week, and fill in for additional  weeks. All of this is predicated on passing this course, and establishing that I have the Teaching gift. We’ll see!

Along with the Crossroads Discipleship Training School we run a children’s school called Children of Destiny.  I (Carol) am in the process of creating a curriculum, schedule and trying to recruit staff.  The Lord has been faithful to give me vision and keep me focused on His heart for the families that will be coming for training this summer.  Along with the children of the CDTS families, we will have about 6 to 8 South Korean children who’s parents will be attending an English as a Second Language school.  We also invite staff to put their children in the class as well, so I will also have to be creative with our space (it’s small).  It’s been fun creating and also challenging.  The staff recruiting isn’t going as well as I’d hoped, but I’m trusting God is doing a work and already has just the right ones.  Many of our staff are away to do fund raising or are on outreaches right now. I am thankful for the experience of many Vacation Bible Schools at Living Faith Fellowship.  I am excited to see what God will do in the lives of these young people!

Please join us in praying for the upcoming CDTS in June. We  have had many inquiries for this school. We have about 10 applicants in varying stages of the application process. I believe that there are several people who have started the process, but are unsure of  making the commitment, or are unsure of God’s direction.

Pray that:  ALL of those whom God has called would answer in the affirmative.
Fear would be bound, and Faith, Joy and Trust would abound.
Each person would take the time to wait on God and hear from Him for their direction and strategy.
Carol would have all the helpers she needs for the Children of Destiny program. (COD)
We praise God for:
Sparing the lives of the Cedarleaf family, their faithful witness, and His provision for them
Faithful prayer warriors who support us, allowing us to work in this mission
YWAM’s heritage, vision, and call to work with simple disciples of an Awesome God

                Until they all know Him!
                Fred and Carol
